Guided Visits for UK Schools

Experience St Paul’s Cathedral

We offer curriculum connected themed Guided Visits for all key stages from EYFS to KS5, all of which are adaptable for SEND students/groups. Explore the religious symbolism of the Cathedral’s artefacts and art in our Sacred Space session; learn how St Paul’s rose like a phoenix from the Great Fire of London in London’s Burning; marvel at our glorious ceiling mosaics and make your own mosaic tile to take home in our Majestic Mosaics workshop; think about the ethical issues facing the church today and question a priest in The Big Issues; investigate the design and architecture behind Wren’s masterpiece in Building a Cathedral; encounter stories of bravery, sacrifice and survival in our Cathedral at War session, examine the role of the Cathedral as both a place of worship and a business in A Fine Line. We also offer specialised GCSE workshops for Religious Studies and History (Restoration England). Schools from outside of the UK are welcome to visit St Paul’s Cathedral but will need to book via the Admissions Department. Please click here for further details. If you book a Guided Visit you will be provided with a free Resource Pack containing a variety of activities to do in the classroom before and after your visit to the Cathedral. For more detailed information about the sessions/workshops available please see our Primary and Secondary Brochures. Bursary All schools from the area of the Diocese of London, visiting after the 1st October 2022, who have a Pupil Premium percentage of 35% and over in their school, may be able to reduce the cost of visiting by 50%. This includes all visit types (virtual, self-guided and guided visits) and includes the entrance to the Dome Galleries. Please get in touch if you think you will qualify for our bursary. Pupil Premium percentage must be evidenced via an official document or a letter/email from the Head Teacher. This bursary has a limited availability and will be provided on a first come first served basis. History Set in Stone: Church, Power and Empire Booking now, a brand-new workshop for KS 3-5 focused on St Paul’s Cathedral’s Monuments and Memorials will be launching Spring Term 2023. In the workshop students will discover how the monuments at St Paul’s Cathedral can inform understanding of the British Empire and its influence and impact on the wider world, explore the monuments themes through response pieces by poets, artists and historians via 50 Monuments in 50 Voices project using contributed art and poetry as resources for interactive activities and discussion. The workshop will, through discussion and creative response activities, build student’s skills in critical and reflective thinking and will provide opportunity for students to share opinions and feelings around the national conversation taking place about public monuments and contested history.
